School Improvement Goals:
ELA: By June 2026, HWES 3rd and 4th grade students will increase performance in the Prose Constructed Response domain of the Literacy Summative Assessment with at least 40% scoring at the meet/exceed level as a result of all HWES students identifying key details during Close Reading activities to improve comprehension and implementing the RACE writing strategy to improve writing responses.
MATH: By June 2026, HWES 3rd and 4th grade students will increase performance in the modeling and reasoning domain of the Math Summative Assessment with at least 50% scoring at the meet/exceed level as a result of all HWES students using manipulatives or drawings to model mathematical thinking and incorporating number talks to expand upon mathematical reasoning.
