As an instructional leader, Dr. Sullivan’s enduring passion lies in empowering educators to build student-centered learning environments where every student is presented with equitable opportunities to achieve high levels of academic success.
Dr. Sullivan earned her undergraduate and two of her graduate degrees at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She began her teaching career as an English teacher at both the middle and high school levels, but after earning her Educational Specialist Degree in Reading Education, she worked as a Reading Specialist in the Miami-Dade Public School System, as well as in Frederick and Montgomery Public School Districts in Maryland.
Dr. Sullivan has been in the field of education for over 30 years, assuming roles that run the gamut from classroom teacher, Educational Consultant, to Supervisor of English Language Arts at the K-12 level. She has also taught graduate and undergraduate level courses in ESL, Linguistics, Literacy Education and College Level Reading and Writing courses at various colleges in the US.
Dr. Sullivan began her career with DoDEA as an ELA ISS at Fort Moore, Georgia in 2016, where she supported the initial implementation of the CCRSL. In this role, she has provided support to the Pacific South District in Okinawa where she is currently stationed, but works primarily with the Pacific West ISSs, school administrators, and district leadership.
In both her ISS and PDS roles, Dr. Sullivan has provided professional learning in a variety of areas including Instructional Rounds, DoDEA Teacher Leadership Program, CCRSL, Focused Collaboration, DoDEA Learning Walkthrough Tool, Excellent Instruction, HQIP, and other district and organizational initiatives.
Dr. Sullivan has also served as interim assistant principal at Bechtel ES where she built lasting relationships with teachers, students, parents, and the surrounding community.

Her goal is to help ensure a positive, safe learning environment where students and staff feel valued, supported, and respected.
Dr. Sullivan is currently accompanied by her husband and son but will soon be joined by her adopted daughter in the new year. The entire family is enthusiastic about embarking on this new adventure in South Korea.
